Clara Pritchett
Executive Director

A graduate of Brown University with a B.A. in Africana Studies, Clara brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her work. During her time at Brown, she developed and taught an independent study course titled "Diet Culture and Fatphobia in the US" and completed her senior thesis on "It is a War on the Body: The Racial Construction of the American Obesity Epidemic," graduating with honors.

 

Clara's professional background includes extensive experience in volunteer management, fundraising, and curriculum development, with her being the primary author of the BEP curriculum. She has also contributed her talents to other nonprofit organizations, including the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance (NAAFA) and Direct Action for Rights and Equality (DARE), and served on the NAMI Next Gen Youth and Young Adult Council in 2024.

 

As a Philadelphia native, Clara is deeply committed to her community and takes pride in giving back to the city where she grew up. She is honored to work within the public school system, addressing issues of mental health, body liberation, and systemic racism with both academic expertise and personal experience.
