Organizational & Institutional Sponsors

The University of Pennsylvania has served as an institutional sponsor for our high school program, Be Body Positive Philly. In May 2021, Penn granted the organization's founders the President's Engagement Prize — a $100,000 grant to scale our programming and establish this organization.

Body Empowerment Project has partnered with the Eating Disorder Assessment and Treatment Program at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to run a feasibility and effectiveness study on our high school program. We work closely with Dr. C. Alix Timko to evaluate program outcomes and modify programming for future participants.

The Body Positive (TBP) is the organization from which our reserach-validated curricula are derived. All of our program facilitators complete their curricular training directly through The Body Positive. We are grateful to be working with Connie & Elizabeth, co-founders of TBP, to continue equipping adolescents with the skills to live healthfully and intuitively.

Body Empowerment Project is an official partner of the School District of Philadelphia. As such, we are able to work closely with the Office of Strategic Partnerships to ensure that our program is accessible and inclusive of the student populations we serve. Body Empowerment Project also works closely with Dr. Barbara L. Klock, the medical director of the School District of Philadelphia, to facilitate program expansion to new schools.
